Hi Mark,

That's great news, very pleased for you

Glad we were of help, and thanks for returning to tell us of the outcome, it really does give encouragement to others in a similar position.

Best wishes.

Jim

I wanted to say well done and I have found this site invalauble too. I was first turned down for DLA in June. I followed the guidelines to the letter so I knew with all the help from this site I had done a great job.

I got the help from my local welfare rights advisor and she confirmed my application was first class. She suggested I go for a reconsideration I know you often advise go straight to appeal, but it worked anyway. I did addition put in a short letter from my GP, a 48 hour diary and details of my condition which is not strightforward and also the side effects of the drugs I am taking. I really did spell out my mobility and care needs.

I was successful and got HRC and LRM an indefinite award which I know may not be a forever. The welfare right advisor thought I might be eligible for HRM but I decided to see how I go for next few months. I now with my GP's help have a blue badge and a taxi card, so although it was hard work I would say I have the support I need many thanks.
