Hi all
My IB 50 was received by DWP on 25 September 2008 does anyone know how long before a decision is made?

It depends upon how busy the Jobcentre Plus office dealing with your IB claim is.
On average it takes 4-6 weeks, but it may be shorter or longer. I do know that the JCP offices are very busy with the new Employment Support Allowance which replaced IB for new claimants with effect from 27 October.
I'd leave it until the end of the week, then ring your JCP and ask how your claim is proceeding.

hi from receiving form IB5O and sending it off ,the whole
process took less than 6 weeks but i think this was because
i am in receipt of DLA HRM my claim was dealt with by JCP at SUNDERLAND which has always been very quick and helpful regarding my IB.as jim says it probably depends on
where you live.the whole system, if there is one, will probably
turn into an utter shambles because of ESA.

i should have said that it took less than 6weeks from receiving
form IB5O to receiving the successful result.sorry for the
confusion

Hi I sent my ib50 in mid may, and was not called for a medical until mid Aug, I live in the Southampton area, so it depends on which office is dealing with your claim
