I am waiting on an appeal date for DLA and will probably be waiting another few months for any word on that.

Anyway, it has been 6 months since my benefit was withdrawn under periodic review. So on Monday I sent another DLA form completed to perfection. Everything that I needed to include has been included this time, so I will let that take it's course to.

But today, was like winning the lotto for me, because, I had applied for a blue badge from the Roads Service and today I received one. I cant begin to tell you how this will help me and make me want to go out more. Im actually sitting here crying as I type because I am so happy about this.

Just thought I would post this in case someone else who didnt know like myself originally, that the blue badge can be obtained by other means.

I have been helped greatly by Jim, Crazydiamond (girls best friend), mean the diamond part, not the crazy, and of course Pete. Just wanted to give what info I could back

Kathy good to hear that you have got your blue badge, it makes the world of difference.
I have one without having managed to get DLA yet as does a friend of mine.
Hope the DLA appeal goes well, it is outrageous that they can stop a benefit and then leave you so long iwthout it. After all the whole reason for DLA is to help with the extra costs that we have.

Thank you for the info about the blue badge. I have just applied for one and am also awaiting an appeal date (expected early next year) So we are in a similar boat so to speak.

Thanks, will keep you all informed how my appeal and new application went. went xmas shopping today, and the difference between paking outside the shops and dropping parcels to car each time was brill. Still very painful experience, easier to deal with though.
