I would suggest that your wife telephones her GP's secretary and find out if the DWP requested any clinical details regarding her condition because I would have thought that, unless things have changed, it would have mentioned it on the decision letter if they had used any information from her GP.

Hi Steve,

I didn't know you lived in South Cumbria like me. Citizens Advice South Lakes (CASL) have a good welfare rights service based in Kendal, but also have an outreach worker who covers all of South Cumbria.

I think you really need 'face to face' advice from a WRO, so I'd advise you to contact CASL on 0870 1264 061.

Jim

Thanks for advice,Jim/Gareth. I live in Barrow, would it be advisable to visit CAB Barrow office or use your contact at Kendal as advised. Takes awhile to get appointment at Barrow. Will contact GP for info. Steve

Hi Steve,

Living in Barrow-in-Furness, it would be best to contact Barrow CAB. They have at least two good WRO's working for them who used to to work for Barrow Borough Council's
welfare rights service before they disbanded due to lack of funds.

I used to sit on tribunals in Barrow, in the old county court offices, then we moved to Forum 28, but I gave up sitting on DLA Tribunals in 2005 after 10 years service as I was over state pension, and my health wasn't good.

I still do the odd tribunal representation in Barrow and Lancaster when I feel well enough.

Best of luck.

Jim
