Backdating of Benefit Claims. 3 Months ago
Just a brief reminder that as from tomorrow 6 October, the rules for backdating certain
benefits will be reduced following a change in the regulations by the DWP. (Social Security ( Miscellaneous Amendments) (No 4) Regulations 2008] S.I. 2424.

From tomorrow those under 60 years of age will see the length of time they can back-claim benefits cut from a year to 6 months, whilst the over-60's will only be able to reclaim 3 months' worth of benefits.

The benefits affected are housing benefit, council tax benefit and pension credit.
