How long to dla keep claim forms and medical reports for? would they use medical/consultant reports from the last renewal for the current renewal?

and if they still had medical etc reports from my claim previous to this renewal would i be allowed to ask for copies? would this rock the boat and prompt them to decide to re look at my current claim years before it is due for renewal?

also, if i was to start a voluntary job, i assume i have to tell them? will that mean they decide to completely reassess my claim? (it will actually increase my care needs but i already get hrc and i will be really well supported in the job, all volunteers there are).

I think it is best to leave well alone. You can request your records under the Data Protection Act 1998, and also request that they destroy particular records if you think they are being kept beyond a reasonable time period.

As you might be aware, the DWP tend to view part-time voluntary work as an indicator that someone could do a full-time job, regardless of illness or disability. Please be aware that all information that you give them regarding work related activity will be recorded by the DWP.

shall have to seriously think about whether to do the voluntary job or not, i would hate to jeopardise my health by being hassled and pressured because of it.
