Hi,

Just interested on your views on a particular DLA question.

Regarding Care needs, If a particular hygeine issue needs to be taken care of at a particular time and cannot be because of a disability, would you consider this as a need for help even if it can be dealt with say 4-5 hours later by the person with the disability.

What I am trying to establish is, if you need to actually accept help at the particular time, and if you dont might this not be seen as a care need.

I am making a comparison with a normal able bodied person being in the position to take care of their own issues at a time when it needs done.

Do the DWP mean what they say when they state wether you get the help or not.

Thanks Kathy

Hi Kathy,

I'm not very well at the moment, plus two other moderators are off sick at present, Pete has had a heart attack and surgery today, and pata1 my wife has the 'flu virus which has knocked her on her back.

if you look at this thread it should answer your query.

If not post again, but most likely it will be next week before you receive a reply, unless Crazydiamond sees you post over the weekend and he wishes to comment.

Hi Kathy,

I have had problems logging into the forum for the last few days, but the glitch has now been resolved.

I am pleased to see that you have had your query answered by Jim, and I would endorse his comments with nothing further to add to his post, in response to your question.
