I made a claim for incapacity benefit and although I still haven't received the questionnaire to fill out or any payment, I have been called into the job centre for a work focused interview. My first reaction was that this was a mistake, but apparently this is mandatory for all new claimants and involves drawing up a plan aimed at getting back into work.

Can anyone please give a pointer as to what this interview entails? Quite honestly this is the last thing I need right now as I do not want to get snared into some action plan I can not keep up with, and then be penalised for that.

Also can anyone give a pointer as to the best way of securing an interim payment. I was told of a crisis fund, but the phone line is apparently very busy and I can't afford to waste money on that new 0845 number.
