National incapacity benefit conference – you’re probably not invited!

  PDF    Print    Email

9 February 2006

The DWP are holding a national conference to showcase good practice in partnership working to get claimants off incapacity benefit and back into work. The conference is being held at Birmingham International Conference Centre on 9th March and it’s free. Unfortunately, it’s by invitation only and neither claimants nor workers from the voluntary sector are getting invites.

However, primary care and mental health trusts plus government offices are being invited. So if you’re one of the lucky ones who gets to attend we’d be delighted to hear back from you about what went on.

We’d be particularly interested to hear what happens when the organisers “Challenge delegates to develop, in partnership, local action plans for providing a more holistic approach to helping people claiming Incapacity Benefits back to work”.

Alternatively, if anyone’s got a spare invitation . . .

Get more details about the conference.
