Agoraphobia and PTSD was created by avalon
Hi,

I have been diagnosed by a Psychiatrist as having PTSD and Agoraphobia, (I survived 7/7). Does anyone know if this means I can ask for any assessments by the DWP to be taken at home? And what jobs can I be asked to do if I literally cannot get there - apart from the fact that I cannot walk or drive either?

I literally have a panic attack or actually vomit if I go out at the moment.

Many thanks for any answers.

You can ask for a home visit and agoraphobia sounds like a very good reason for asking for one, but there's no guarantee you'll get one.

In relation to ESA, you may like to consider whether there would be serious harm to your health if you didn't get ESA, and if so, to consider getting a report on this from your doctor that you can submit with your application.

I recommend that you read the guides in the Help for Claimants section, which contain more detailed advice.

Hi Avalon
Having been subjected to such a traumatic and well documented event, with such devestating consequences to your well being; you could argue that to not allow you a home visit would contravene 'reasonable adjustment' under the Disability Discrimination Act'.
On a personal note, having been caught up in the blast from an IRA bomb, I can understand where you're coming from. Hang in there, Hun.
Cheers, Pen.

Hi Avalon
I am sure you would have very good case to ask for a home visit. The past few years can't have been at all easy for you & with the enquiry being so much in the news. Good luck with your claim - the guides on this site are first rate. Let us all know how you get on.
