TOPIC: recorded medical

Due ot your website I have applied for a recorded medical as the one I was given next week was a non recorded medical.
I phoned to ask for the medical to be recorded and was told I would be put on a waiting list for recorded medicals and was confused to day when I had received not one but 3 separate letters requesting me to attend a medical on the 22nd August. This is such a waste of printing, paper and stamps.

My telephone conversation with the ATOS personnel agent today told me to ignore the 3 letters for the same date as the recording equipment would not be available.I was told the computer had generated all 3 letters for a 22nd August appointment and I was to ignore them all . I would receive a telephone call when the medical and recording equipment would be available

It seems to me that this company is inefficient in arranging recorded medicals ( which the agent cannot still book for me to date) and inefficient in posting out numerous random computer appointments that are null and void.

This is an appalling way to deal with disabled people to send out random letters that pointless. Especially when there is a sentence that states I must attend teh meicall on 22nd August or reisk losing my benefits!!!
Last Edit: 9 months 1 week ago by Mrs Hurtyback.

Can I suggest that you confirm in writing to both ATOS and the DWP, that ATOS have agreed to wait until recording equipment is available and that you do not need attend the assessment(s) scheduled for the 22nd.

With regard the letters, anything comment I could make would have to be deleted by another Moderator :)

Today I received ANOTHER appointment in the post but for a different date - for the 21st August. I rang them again and the person I spoke to was on the phone for 20 mins trying to get to the bottom this.
She could not tell me if this was a genuine appointmeent with the recording equipment and told me to ring next week!! WHY CAN'T THEY SORT THIS OUT - they wont e mail me any confirmations nor let me email them!

DWP/ATOS do not communicate with claimants via email. As to the rest of your post - his appears to be another instance where the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing!

Query - should you receive your copy immediately after the assessment, or should you have to ask for it in writing afterwards?
