TOPIC: Esa recorded assessment

Esa recorded assessment 7 months 1 week ago #93051

My assessment was cancelled two hours prior to appointment and although I had requested and been told it was to be a recorded assessment, they confirmed they had not arranged this. She then said they had recieved an e-mail but it had'nt been arranged. Shoud I write to them requesting this and ask for confirmation or should I just wait for a new appointment and then ring the assessment centre. Advice appreciated.

Hi Bb,

It may be advisable to re-contact ATOS to reiterate that you are requesting that your rescheduled face to face assessment, should be recorded.

You may also wish to point out that even though you had requested this for the previous cancelled appointment, it appears that they had not complied with your request.

Any paper trail that you have in connection with this issue, can only help.

It might also be worth putting in writing that the previous appointment was cancelled by Atos - they are have a record of assuming that it was your responsiblility. The point is that you can only cancel 2 appointments - a 3rd cancellation by you counts as a "no-show". We have the re-assurance of the minister that any cancellation because they have failed to provide recording equipment will not count as one of the claimant's "two strikes" - but sometimes Atos need reminding of that. So keep a paper record of any delays over recording.

I'd ask as a favour to all those of us caught up in the recording saga, if you (and anyone else who is trying to get their WCAs recorded) could report on the outcome. Just let us know how easy (or hard) it was to get the assessment recorded and how you found the experience.
