If you get put in the work focused group and you have to go in to attend interviews and may be a pathways to work group who pays for your busfare.

I ask because living in the countryside I don't drive and it costs over £8 a day to get a return bus ticket to the nearest town. I know at present if you get called into the job center they pay your bus fares but I wasn't sure about the pathways to work scheme.

It occured to me that if the government were going to pay then the costs involved could easily amount to more than the proposed savings by reducing your money. If you have to pay yourself you could easily find yourself destitute.

According to this:-

WFI

Whether it applies to ESA claimants I don't know, perhaps someone can confirm this.

it says:- "If you have to travel to go to your interview, you will be able to apply to have any travel costs refunded. You must bring receipts or proof of your expenses to the interview."
