The problem is that the vast majority of claimants will not have the knowledge or the motivation to complain about Atos.

Most are probably too stunned to do anything after hearing that they have failed the WCA, and then to have the stress and trouble of appealing the adverse decision.

Don't forget these are people who have been declared as unfit for work by their GP, and sometimes their consultants, only to have their incapacity called into question by these so-called disability analysts, who are the products of a mere two days training!

i would imagine it would also only count people who have complained through specific channels in specific ways - and not include all those who have gone to CAB or through phoned ATOS customer support.

could be wrong though, does anyone know?

I can only comment, when ATOS starts finding Incapacity Benefit claimants for work when IB claimants are transferred from IB to ESA they and the DWP are going to get so many complaints they won't know what hit them.

My interpretation of the complaints figure is the manner in which the individual undergoing the medical test was treated rather than the outcome of the medical. From a personal point of view if I were treated with politeness and in a courteous manner and the medical was carried out in a professional way but failed the medical then I wouldn't really consider making a complaint against ATOS but would merely put in an appeal.

However if I were treated in a rude and discourteous manner and aspects of the medical were presented in a way that weren't the case at the time then all hell would break loose!!!

apparently there is a journalist for the bbc gathering information and complaints against atos medical

Philip.Hendry@bbc.co.uk

would a petition to the government that would be written by someone that has a bit more intelligence than myself do any good, I know that you need 500 signatures for it to be of much use, but it may bring it to the publics attention, more so the lack of experience and the fact they are employed to reach target levels and do not have the welfare of the patients at heart
