Glad to hear it was sorted out by the DWP without you having to take it any further.

I've taken note about the evidence you presented on the day being ignored, we have had several other members complain about the assessors being reluctant to take any notice of new evidence.

I wonder if you could help on this one.

As you will see from previous posts I have been awarded Standard care 10 points and enhanced mobility 12 points

On the 30 June I sent in a change of circumstances see copy below;

Dear Sir or Madam

I wish to inform you of a change in circumstances from my assessment on the 17 April 2014 in accordance with descriptor COMMUNICATING VERBALLY, where I informed the Health Professional that I have a hearing loss in both ears more so in my right ear and it was only because it was a one on one and he had a strong powerful voice I could grasp what he was saying.
According to the Decision Maker, I can express myself and understand verbal information unaided which I was awarded 0 points.
Since my assessment I have had an audiology test and has been confirmed that I have hearing loss in both ears and now wear a hearing aid which in effect gives me a score of 2 points and a total of 12 points.
I have enclosed copy of the Audiology report for your perusal.
Yours Faithfully

I phoned the DWP on the 7 July and they confirmed they had received every thing and will be in contact later.
I again phoned on 29 July only to be told that a decision maker will phone me seeing it was nearly 30 days of them receiving the letter.
Again I phoned on the 5 August and said they will resend the email.
On the 11 August they said the will prioritise my case,
STILL nothing as of today and I feel I am becoming a nuisance

Question
Was I correct in sending in a C of C ?
Would I be entitled to the 12 points?

Regards
Bica

Strictly speaking, for it to be a Change of Circumstances you would need to show that the change occurred since you were last assessed, it's not clear from your post whether this is the case, or rather that your problems were this bad when you were assessed and should have been using a hearing aid then.

We have not seen how the DWP are handling CofC's for PIP, I am only aware of one and that is not on this forum, however, using other benefits as a benchmark I would normally expect a CofC to result in a full re-assessment of the claimant with a PIP2 form and most likely a face to face assessment.

It may be as the change was reported so close to the original assessment that they will treat it as a request for Mandatory Reconsideration, but until the DWP contact you again you will have to wait and see.

You need to be aware that both a CofC and an MR will result in your claim being looked at in detail and whilst it is unlikely given your existing award, they can reach a different Decision either in your favour or not.

If your existing points are upheld and your usage of a hearing aid is deemed reasonable then it is possible that you will receive the 12 points for an Enhanced award.

Thanks Gordon
I think instead of poking the fire I will let it settle for a little longer and see what happens.
