Hi Tommy,

Yes, I'm afraid your payments will stop after 365 days - unless you are eligible for income-related ESA. If you think that might be the case you should ask DWP for form ESA3.

Hi again Mrs hurtyback
Thank you for your kind reply. Please could you elaborate a little about what I need to do when the time comes. Plus the ESA3 form, and what to do with it, and the rates of the payments, or could you guide me to any website/s that will be of help to me.

Once again thank you for you reply. Regards Tommy

Hi T,

Some weeks before the end of the 365 days period limit to payment of CB ESA, (This applies also, even if you are assessed before the end of the 365 days and placed into The WRAG)

You should contact the DWP Benefits Office that is dealing with your ESA and request an ESA 3 Financial Assessment Form to see whether you can pass the means test for payment of Income Related (IR) ESA.

The ESA 3 is not available on line, however here is a sample of an older version to give you some idea of what information is required.

Sample ESA 3 Form

The DWP are supposed to contact you some 8 weeks before the end of the 365 day period.

However, you cannot rely on this, and may have to instigate the issuing of an ESA 3 yourself.

See :

12 Month Limit for ESA(CB)

&

12 Month Limit for ESA(CB) – Implementation

From our : ESA FAQ’s

See also : Asset rule for ESA(IR)

&

24 hour work rule for ESA(IR)

Finally, see : Sending Documents to the DWP or ATOS
