One person I spoke to said I have enough contributions, so don't know whats going on

Does it usually take this long do you know

Hi MK,

I am afraid that the information that you receive from Call Responders in The DWP Call Centres, can, to put it kindly, be "very sketchy".

The MR was to see whether you qualified for The SG. You were successful and were placed into The SG.

You have had to fill in an ESA 1 Form (Book) to restart your ESA Claim. (As previously advised by Gordon)

There is no need to "reconsider" The ESA 1 Form, once it is processed payment of CB ESA should be reinstated, and backdated from the date that the fresh ESA50 was received by ATOS/DWP.

So it is purely a matter of how long it takes to scan The ESA 1 onto your file, and restart your claim.

Received a letter today stating that my payments would start again they are back dated to the date I had the phone call from the lady at DWP sating that she was recommending I go in the support group and that was July.

There wasn't any date on the letter as to when it is to, so I rang and they said until at least January 2015, so I can breath again for a while.

Thankyou so much for all your help and advise, so happy I found this site.

MissK

Glad to hear it was sorted so quickly.

ESA is an indefinite award with regular re-assessment, so the letters do not have how long the award is for. I am afraid six months is a short award for the SG, you should expect to receive a new ESA50 a couple of months earlier than January 2015, however, the queues for assessments have not significantly reduced so it may actually be some time before a new Decision is made, you will continue to receive the SG Rate until this happens.
