ATOS has passed the PIP claim back to DWP and I was not called into a medical. Good sign? How long until I get the letter from DWP?

Thanks

Hi C123,

I would say that this is a good sign, as The PIP Assessor feels that you have provided enough written evidence to recommend an award with out the need for a "medical".

As you will see on this post, in our Spotlights Area :

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/forum?view=top...5481&start=54#121606

"Advice on how the number of Face to Face Assessments should be kept to a minimum. (See Page 26. 2.5)"

The most current guidance to PIP Assessment Providers (May 2014) informs them "how" to keep "medicals" to a minimum.

It is hard to say how long it will take to receive a decision from The DWP.

They are quality auditing a percentage of PIP Assessment Reports, although they state that this should not add more than a fortnight or so to the decision making process.

You could leave it a week or so then contact the DWP for an update :

PIP helpline :

Telephone: 0345 850 3322
Textphone: 0345 601 6677

Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm

I would also keep an eye on your Bank Account, as sometimes PIP will go into your account before you receive the decision notice.

Please keep us updated.

Thanks.

Was told by ATOS they had sent it back to the DWP early last week. Just hope the phone does not go with somebody trying thier best to stop an appeal!

DWP said today I should give them 4 weeks however she would expect a letter before then.

Hope this will be a result! Thought no phone call was a good sign based on thinking they phoned before sending the decision. Appears they can decline or reduce and follow up with a call after the letter has been sent.

If they do make a phone call, either good or bad, then it will not be until immediately before or after a Decision has been made, I am afraid the majority of the wait will be because your file is sitting in a tray waiting to be processed.
