Will my ESA increase was created by Markov
Does anyone know if my ESA increases and by how much since I was awarded middle care and low rate mobility. Will ESA write to me or do I have to notify them. Thanks

Hi M,

Conratulations on The DLA Award, as seen : Here.

Due to the DLA MR Care Award, you may now be entitled to The Severe Disability Premium, (SDP) paid as a top-up to your ESA.

Details of qualifying criteria for The SDP can be seen on this FAQ :

ESA Premiums

Even though MR Care may "qualify" you for The SDP, to be paid all or part of The SDP, you must also be eligible for Income Related (IR) ESA.

You should contact the DWP Benefits Office/Centre that deals with your ESA, and tell them that you wish to be financially assessed for payment of The SDP (IR ESA).

Include a copy of The DLA Decision Notice letter which includes the MR Care Award.

Sending Documents to the DWP or ATOS

You may then have to fill in a financial assessment form, to gauge your eligibility for IR ESA payments.

If you are entitled to payment of The SDP, payments should be backdated to the active date of your DLA MR Care Award.

So annoyed today I phoned up esa and was told I would not be entitled to a severe disability premium as I live at my mothers. So the extra esa top up I thought I would get I wont now. I am on middle rate care and low mobility. Is this correct I am so annoyed now and angry as I thought I was entitled to this and now nothing just because I live with my mother who helps care for me. The house isnt even bought and my mother is on benefits and she also cares for her father and gets carer allowance
