Respose to Capita was created by weasley
Due to my severe mental health illness, I find it almost impossible to communicate with people, this is well documented with my mental health medical team. When my assessment is finally confirmed, I know I will go into meltdown if they try to cross examine me, That's why my CPN will be attending and my carers, I have 3. Can they force me to answer questions, if they can I know I will freak out, and self-harm, this is not new its been on my record for the last 10 years, any advice please, should my GP or CPN write to Capita in advance.

They cannot force you to do anything, but it is really important if you have these problems communicating with others that you make the assessor aware of this at the beginning of the assessment, so that they do not take your reluctance or inability to answer as failing to take part in the interview.

I know you will have your CPN with you on the day and in principle the assessor should understand your problems from your form, but you might want to give some thought to composing a short note that you can give to the assessor explaining your problems and what might happen if pushed to answer, that way you will hopefully not feel cornered in to explaining this in detail when they arrive.

I do not know whether this is relevant, but you could also include a safe word, so that your CPN and the assessor can know when you are being pushed too far, so that you can take a short break to compose yourself before continuing.

Good luck
