Parkinson's Disease? or not was created by terdun9
Sorry if this is short and sweet but i have just spent a long time typing it all out then i went and lost it all

I think we have a slight problem in i asked our doctors for the medical notes for my husband, we are having to do a renewal for DLA thats due to end in march. I got the notes from our GP lastnight
But looking at it this morning for a long time i cant see anything about Parkinson's Disease any where. There are letters from the consultant to the GP but no menchtion about it at all. now i have talked to the camist today we have had for years and years she said medication Prescribed is only used for Parkingsons
Now the our GP has retired and he was the only person to say to our face you have Early on set PD
so what do i do with the paper work do i add it and them say no there is no enter on your notes your lieing and them close the claim down forever
Thanks for reading thei Jac

OK, the first thing to say is that DLA is not awarded because of a diagnosis, although having one will be supportive of the limitations that a claimant has, so this is in no way an automatic fail. I would also raise the point that he has been awarded DLA in the past, presumably with no supporting evidence of a diagnosis, so clearly the DWP are looking at his claim from a broader perspective.

I would go and see his current GP and raise the issue with them, there may be something you have missed in his medical records, perhaps they have used another name, a quick search found "Paralysis agitans" and "Shaking palsy", finally they may be able to provide you with a letter with a formal diagnosis.

Hi Gordon sorry for not replying yesterday:: yes it was DLA My husband has been getting it for 10+ years now but this is the first time i have had to put Parkingson`s Disease on to the claim from, and the only supporting evidence is the drug that has been given to him, and the only doctor to tell him face to face has now retired

I am going to make an appointment to see the doctor and hope he also says the same
Thank you
