I have used signed for post on both.

I knew timescales for PIP but had hoped the old DLA change of circumstances, would be different. Oh well I've managed this long without help what is a bit more and back pay could be useful if it comes to it.

Shall we take bets on which of the 3 stresses will be done first.

Sorry, saw the word PIP in your post and assumed....

DLA should be about 11-13 weeks.

:) Wow, I called ATOS today to ask for confirmation of additional evidence I sent in to add to my ESA50. Well that hasn't arrived but Royal Mail Signed for is still saying they have it anyway but thought website was being silly as still showing date I posted it a week ago.
So the news is they have looked at my form and the additional evidence I sent and decided I do not need a medical and sent it back to benefits office for decisions. Now I'm shocked my claim was made slightly in advance to start on 2nd Dec and today told they have made decision. The ESA50 form was posted less than a month ago! Sounding hopeful to me! Now if my DLA reconsideration and ill health retirement could go through as fast I'll be a very happy relieved person.

Wanted to share to give others hope and that your guides really do work to ensure you give all the information in a way they want. I'd have missed several areas if I took the questions at face value. But your guides helped me ensure I covered all my issues and fitted that into the form rather than the form simply not fitting my needs and situation.

It is possible that you will hear before Christmas but it is more likely to be the New Year, if you have not had an assessment then they can only award WRAG or Support Group, with the latter the more likely.

Good luck

I shall not hold my breath for a letter etc!

I don't suppose even if decisions are made before the 13 week mark I will get any higher rate before we hit that date.

I guess then I need to find out about disability premiums and if I need to do anything there or if it automatically hits. Now that would be novel!

If this was a new claim for ESA the first 13 weeks are always paid at the assessment rate, the full rate is paid from the beginning of week 14.

If you claim is for ESA(CB) then I have to warn you that the DWP regularly forget to add any applicable Premiums to a claim, to receive the Premiums you must be entitled to an ESA(IR) top-up to your ESA(CB) this will be dependant on your household income, your savings and assets, and any hours that your partner works. See

Asset rule for ESA(IR)

24 hour work rule for ESA(IR)
