Hi L,

Just to add,

If you do make a late MR request, and it is refused, or you decide not to go forward with an MR request, there is nothing to stop you making a fresh PIP claim as soon as you wish.

Sorry to be a pain but is there any template letters I can use to request a Mandatory Reconsideration. I don't think I can face calling them on the phone.

"OK but the only problem is I would face another 2 hr medical in my bedroom, the first one was gruelling and very uncomfortable. its so off putting."

Hi L,

It is not a definite that you would have to undergo a "Medical" several of our members are now receiving paper based assessments.

The more information that you can provide in an MR or a fresh claim on how your disability affects you, the more chance of success or paper based assessment.

See : This topic from earlier on.

Hi L,

There are template letters included in the links on The PIP MR/Appeal page that I provided the link for.

However, you can simply state that you are formally requesting a Mandatory Reconsideration of the adverse PIP Decision dated xx/xx/xxxx

Follow the advice on this FAQ :

Sending Documents to the DWP or ATOS

It would help if you could include any evidence of how and why you feel that you should have gained the necessary points for a PIP award, however it is important that you register your MR request ASAP.

Therefore you could add comments to the affect that you will forward further evidence once that you have collated it.

If you are to take this approach, provide the extra evidence ASAP.

Have a read thorough the PIP MR/Appeals links, you should find them most helpful.
