Hi M,

Once your ESA 1 Form is filled in and submitted, it does not normally take very long to instigate your payments of ESA at The Assessment Rate.

You should also receive The ESA50 within a couple of weeks of your claim being activated.

It has always been stated that the claimant should be assessed and given a decision within the 13 Weeks Assessment Phase, and if the assessment (WCA) is carried out after that time and the claimant is placed into The WRAG or The SG that the extra SG Component or WRA Component payment is backdated to the beginning of week 14 of your claim.

This is still the case, however we have heard from several members where they have been in The Assessment Phase for over a year, and have still not been assessed and given a decision.

You might wish to gain some time by : Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire
