I have searched but cant find anything on this so sorry if its a repeat.

I was awarded PIP care and mobility last May 23rd 2014 for 2 years.

Today 21st I received an application form for the whole process to start again. It was dated 14th Feb 2015 and has to be with DWP by 14th March.

I know it has been said that the process would start one whole year before it is due but there must be a huge backlog as even this is quicker than was first thought.

Claimants condition can change dramatically within a year and that only means more paperwork etc.

If there is anyone out there that has been re-assessed Id be interested to hear how its going.

Hi Rr,

You have received the forms as if the decision needs to be made in May of this year. According to one of my fellow mods, it was always DWP's intention to review claimants one year before their award ends, even without the current backlog. I'm afraid that the rationale for this is beyond me!

Today I received a letter from Atos to say my application form had been received.
It also said an appointment would be made for an assessment within the next 16 weeks.

I think if the assessment is that early, the decision will be made from then and not when the 2 year award expires.

Anyone else received theirs yet?

I am afraid we are still waiting for some one to complete the PIP re-assessment process, off the top of my head there are at least three members ahead of you at the moment.

A Decision can have any reasonable effective date, so the DWP have to option of both honouring the remaining portion of your current award or applying it from when any new Decision is made, until someone here or on any of the other forums we monitor reports what is happening, we're stuck.

Thanks Gordon, it's very strange as my situation could be very different in a year to what it is now. If they aim to 're assess in 16 weeks there was no point in awarding 2 years, can't see the logic in it.
It will be interesting to see what happens with others.

I am in the same situation. I have PIP until march 2016 but have just received the dreaded brown envelope for re assessment. My husband phoned to query this and was told it was normal to get it a year early. I cant understand this either ..if I already have it awarded until 2016 but am re assessed within the 16 weeks and fail this time I assume i will lose the award straight away.
