Hi s,

It doesn't necessarily follow that you are "doing something wrong".

You may have just been chosen at random, they probably have a quota of claimants to check in each geographical area.

You could covertly record it, you can also have someone else present to take notes if you wish.

In the vast majority of cases where our members have had these types of interview, it has just been a formality and all has been fine.

Try not to worry too much, and please return tomorrow to let us know how it went ! :)

B) I have just returned from one of these 'fishing' exercises!

It was pretty stressful. Trying to find all the paperwork wasn't too easy. Then had to explain why certain amounts of money were showing in my bank account!
Although I could account for these extra amounts, they didn't ask me about other amounts.
Also hadn't cottoned on that my benefit was paid in cash yet I had to physically move it to a certain bank account to pay bills etc.

Once again asked if I could do voluntary work and again I explained why I could not.
In the support group for a reason.

I am not absolutely sure of the outcome. In theory I should be ok, but who knows.

Although the interview in not mandatory the letter doesn't say so.

I went purely because I didn't want them to say I was a no show.

Over all these years my situation has not changed and if anything is getting worse as I get older.

Good Luck with your interview.

I've just had one of these visits. All seemed ok. I have to send some financial evidence as I couldn't access it online, other than that, there didn't seem to be any sinister motives behind the visit.

I was advised to consider applying for a higher DLA award but I am reluctant to rock the boat. I don't want to lose my indefinite low care.

If you are in the UK mainland, then any request for re-assessment of your DLA claim will result in an invitation to claim PIP.

I have just received a letter regarding checking if I am getting the right amount of Pip based on my needs from DWP performance management team. I am worried because I suffer with mental and physical health. They have not asked for bank statements as my health is not a reflection of my income. So I am really stressed about this. Anybody received this letter from the Dwp.
