Good day and good health to this wonderful community!

Currently I am in the ESA Support Group and receive DLA Middle Care and Higher Mobility components.

On 15th March 2015 I received the DWP Uprating/PIP letter informing me that DLA was going to be replaced by PIP.

Would be so grateful if anyone knew:

(1) When I can expect to get the telephone call prior to receiving the PIP1 questionnaire.

(2) How long after the telephone call I should expect to receive the PIP1 questionnaire.

(3) Once PIP1 completed, the length of time before I should receive the PIP2 questionnaire.

(4) Is it alright to attache type written documents to the questionnaires instead of writing by hand?

Thanks very much for your time and help.

All my best, Creature.

If you have a fixed term DLA award then you should expect to be asked to claim PIP 20 weeks in advance of your current award ending, subject to your being in an active PIP postcode at that time, see

www.gov.uk/government/publications/pip-postcode-map-uk

If you have an indefinite award then under current plans you will be asked to claim PIP at some time after October of this year, claimants will be chosen at random and the project will take many years to complete.

For more details of the PIP claim process, have a look at our PIP Claim guide.

Hello Gordon

I'm on an indefinite DLA award, so I should NOT be asked to claim PIP until after October this year, at the earliest. Thanks for the good news.

I am currently working on my PIP form now, but have trouble handwriting so much detail.
Is it alright for me to attach computer-typed printed documents to each section of the questionnaire, instead of writing by hand?

Many thanks, Gordon.

Creature.

There will be no problem with your attaching additional pages to the PIP2 form, make sure that each page has your full name and your National Insurance Number and also index each page with something like "page X of Y", finally make sure that the pages are firmly attached to the form.

You should clearly label the form and the pages so that the assessor and the Decision Maker can easily find the information, on the form something like "continued on page X of attached sheets" and on the attached pages "continued from question Y".
