Hi momx,

That is great news !!! :cheer:

Really pleased for you !! :)

There is no Middle or Lower Rate for PIP as there was for DLA !

With PIP there is either Standard Rate or Enhanced Rate Daily Living (Care) or Standard Rate or Enhanced Rate Mobility.

You should be able to work it out from these figures which are the new rates applicable after 06/04/15.

DLA Care :

High : £82.30/Week

Middle : £55.10/Week

Low : £21.80/Week

DLA Mobility :

High : £57.45/Week

Low : £21.80/Week

PIP Daily Living (Care) :

Enhanced : £82.30/Week

Standard : £55.10/Week

PIP Mobility :

Enhanced : £57.45/Week

Standard : £21.80/Week

From : Benefit Rates 2015/16

So if you have gone from High Rate Care DLA to Standard Rate Daily Living (Care) PIP :

£82.30 - £55.10 = a loss of £27.20/Week

As you have the Enhanced Rate of PIP Mobility, this is the same as High Rate Mobility DLA, £57.45/Week, so no loss there.

You should continue to receive your old rate of DLA until 4 weeks after the date of your PIP Decision, then the new PIP payments will kick in.

PIP like DLA is paid 4 weeks in arrears.

Hi momx,

I am afraid it is not what I "think" that matters ! :)

Before I could make any type of rational meaningful comments, I would need to see all your evidence and finding.

Is your current Standard PIP DL Award "safe" ?

Or could you lose it ?

This is not possible on a public forum.

The main issue is do you feel that you can put up a good argument that you should score the extra 3 points, and provide compelling evidence to show that.

You could try and gain advice from CAB, Age UK, etc, but as you know if you wish to challenge the decision you have to do so within a month of the PIP Decision Notice letter.

Can you imagine the problems caused if Mods starting telling members "yes" challenge the decision, only to find that the member failed and even possibly lost an existing award !! :)

B&W's excellent reputation would go downhill very, very fast.

This type of decision is only one that can be made by the individual member.
