I read in on a paper 'Personal Independence Payment Frequently asked questions' December 2011 published by DWP that; "at the moment Personal Independence payment will not replace DLA for those aged over 65.................we want to see how the assessment for the new benefit works for people of working age before deciding if people over 65 and getting DLA should undertake a new assessment"
Does anyone have any new sensible information on this?

Hi l,

I afraid that there is nothing new !!

Anyone who was over 65 years old on 08/04/13 will continue to receive DLA beyond 65 as long as they continue to fulfil the qualifying criteria.

Of course, this does not mean the things may not change in the future.

See : Here.

Hi bro,
Thank you for your response. Ever fearful of losing DLA. Am not a wealthy pensioner with a second pension. Have mental health problems so spend many wakeful nights worrying about the changes and what else may be cut locally. Feel lots of empathy for people (including younger friends) going through all the welfare reform changes. Shall try to take life "one day at a time"
Good wishes to all.
