I'm due a F2F assessment from Capita, I want to record it, but they say they don't supply the equipment, the peopel I talked to at the DWP haven't heard of audio recordings.

I've been told that I have to provide something that can make 2 simultaneous recordings of either tape or cd, but that can't be a computer. Also that I can't make a recording on a dvd recorder and duplicate it.

Any advice?

The DWP have asked the PIP Assessment Providers not to provide recording facilities for the assessments, claimants can, but only if they provide DWP approved recording facilities, in practice it is possible to argue against much of the requirement but you will need to be able to make two simultaneous recordings on to tape or CD, you cannot make a digital recording, for example on a computer and you cannot make one recording and then copy it.

As an alternative, you can make a covert recording of the interview on whatever device you choose, but if discovered the assessor will ask you stop, if you do not then you will be classed as failing to participate and the assessment will be stopped with no report produced, so you need to be very careful about doing this.
