DLA to pip transfer was created by stickman1992
Hi, i am on indefininate dla award and have now recieved my "invitation" to apply for PIP. The questions i have are:

1. I know you get 30 days to return the form but is that from the day you make the phonecall to apply for PIp? and how quickly should i get the form after the phonecall.

the reason i ask this is i am expecting to see my consultant and want all the medical info to be as up to date as possible.

2. when you return the form how quickly do you find out if you have to have a F2F? i am in a capita area.

i have downloaded the PIP guide and hope to use that to convey my points more clearly.

best wishes to you all.

meant to include: i have a copy of the DLA right payment medical i had 2 years ago that was favourable. Would they take any notice of a copy of that with all my medical evidence?

When you make the claim you will be asked to complete a PIP1 form, this can be done over the phone or you can request a copy is sent to you. See the PIP Claim guide for details of what you will be asked.

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip

Once the PIP1 is completed/returned a PIP2 form will be issued, you will be given four weeks to complete and return it, there will be a specific return date in the accompanying letter.

From members posts, in the majority of cases an assessment has been booked in a couple of weeks, failing that it can take several months.

You can include it as evidence, but you will need to reference it to the PIP Descriptors as the criteria for PIP is different from DLA.
