PIP claim confusion was created by slegne
My friends PIP2 form was received by ATOS on 16/07/15, all additional evidence was received by them on 23/07/15. On 28/07/15 she received a phone call from a health professional. He said he required further evidence so he could send his report to DWP. At first he said he needed more recent medical evidence, he had been unable to get through on the phone to her GP, I said that if he persevered he should be able to get through, its not that difficult. He then asked if she had a CPN or key worker, I replied she did not currently. He then said it was about some issues of prompting on some activities. I asked if I could help as her carer. He said he would try the GP again, but might get back to me later in the afternoon, presumably if he couldnt get through to the GP. However there was no further call. Not long after my friend called her doctor regarding an health issue, but was also informed by her GP that she had not been contacted about PIP. Then on 10/08/15 my friend received a text from DWP stating they had recieved her form, evidence and a report and would be in contact. And that a health professional might be in contact concerning a medical. To date, 31/08/15, she has heard nothing at all.
I find it odd that DWP would send a text confirming they have all her PIP claim info. Also, if that is the case, does that not mean all evidence and ATOS report is with them for a decision. In that case why would they say in the text that their might be a medical, I thought the f2f assessment is another form of further evidence that feeds into their report to go to DWP, yet DWP in their text say they have got everything. Would the DWP bother contacting her unless they had all the info for a decision maker? This uncertainty and delay is eating away the last of my friends coping mechanisms, I am very concerned as she has attempted suicide on previous occassions, would it be worthwhile ringing the DWP to clarify what going on with the claim?

It is possible that the Assessment Provider (AP) has got ahead of the DWP messaging systems, however, the call from the AP does not mean that they will not still carry out an assessment.

It is probably worth your phoning the DWP and ATOS for an update, the DWP number should be on the letters already received.
