Hi g4,
Not quite correct !
DWP can reassess an ESA award any time after 3 months have elapsed since the date of the award.

Hi g4,
Unlike DLA Awards where with a Fixed Term DLA Award, the period of the Fixed Term formed part of the actual award in law. e.g. HR Mobility DLA Award for 3 years, the 3 years being the fixed term, theoretically ESA is awarded indefinitely, (open ended)
In reality, each ESA awarded comes with a recommended period before it is reassessed. (The Prognosis of the award)
The Prognosis period is just a recommendation of when the award should be reassessed and does not form part of the award in law.
However, the law does state that an ESA award cannot be reassessed any earlier than 3 months after the date of the award.
