Hello,

Being very conscious of the one month deadline for requesting a Mandatory Reconsideration, I am writing a letter to post today.

Based on the "Decision Maker's Reasoning" I know some of the things which are inaccurate and that I'd like to contend.

However, I am not sure whether I should explain my disagreements in this letter or save it for when the Assessment Report comes through?

I am a bit confused. I am not sure how to request an assessment report.

I don't want to wait for that to be sent as I might miss my deadline (20th December)

You need to get your letter sent. You can put in the letter that further information will follow.
You need to request the decision makers report and the HCA report. You can put this request in the letter or ring and ask for them. Its probably best to put all the stuff you've already picked up in the letter so that they have it already and in case you don't get the further evidence in on time.

You can submit evidence up to the MR itself but some people are finding the MR is being held early and just rubberstamps the first decision so don't worry about it too much, your real chance to put your case comes at the proper appeal before an independent panel.

Okay, thank-you - I think I understand.

I will request:
- the decision maker's report
- the HCA report
- a mandatory reconsideration

I have some further evidence I would like to send, do you think the following is appropriate:
- letter from my therapist summarising the 19 sessions of CBT and detailing that I am now on a therapy break (for 3 months) to put into practice what I have learned
- receipts from Social Anxiety Support Group (proof of attendance/payment/required support)
- e-mail conversation of my enrollment into a Recovery College (offers workshops/support for people who have used mental health services and helps them re-build their lives)

I will also be outlining why I think the decision was wrong.

Do you think this is appropriate evidence, I'm not sure if I should send receipts (it's just a way of proving my attendance at a support group since losing the support of my CBT therapist)

Thanks for your continued patience and support, it is appreciated.

You should have received the Decision Maker's Statement of Reasons with the Decision Letter.

You need your evidence to address either a diagnosis, treatment, or in particular your limitations in regard to the PIP activities.

I'm not convinced that the receipts or the email would add anything, but the decision is yours.

I thought it was valid evidence because the letter from my therapist addresses that she has been treating me for social anxiety/social anxiety management.

My treatment involves putting myself in social situations - social anxiety support group is treatment, I consider any social situation I force myself into, treatment.

This goes for the Recovery College

I am beginning to think I don't have a case and am considering not requesting a MR.
