HELP..............PHONE CALL FROM ATOS?

Hi all

Am in a right dither due to telephone message stating, that it was so & so from the ATOS DWP SERVICE DESK”!

1. Why do they say ATOS, when they’re not handling claims anymore.
2. I gave them my mobile number only, so don’t know how the caller got my landline number which is ex-directory?
3. The call handler gave my answer phone a numeric ref: No and the following No. to call back
0845 337 4971.
4. However, the number showing on my phone is 02030 334 350 and when I try and call that number, the automated voice tells me it’s not a recognisable number?????????

So to me there are two possibilities here:
1. The call was meant for me and they somehow got my landline number. In which case it’s time to toss a coin and either return the call or do nothing and wait and see if anything come through the post. (My re-assessment date’s for March 2016 for ESA Cont, currently SG).

2. The call was meant for someone else claiming, eg; wrong number.

I know that any decision is solely down to myself and no one on the Forum can advise on whether or not I pick up the phone. However, like everyone else, the stress of not knowing aggravates my conditions and the stress of solving the enigma, will have the same affect.

So am appealing for any info/help re: the above, that might enable me to make an informed decision/anyone able to enlighten me as to what they might want?

So hard……………..if it might prevent me being called in for F2F, it would be better…………what info should I have at hand………………..I’m parts 1 & 2 of ESA50!

Thanks for your time and patience and apologise for any repetitions, like most of us, it’s got me in to full scale panic and am beginning to crumble already!!!!!!!!!!!!

ATOS are not doing ESA assessments any more although they do still do PIP in some parts of the country.

Have you tried ringing the number they gave you rather than the number the call came from?
This would probably clear the matter up.

Otherwise ignore it and pretend like it never happened. They will have to write to you eventually if they cannot get a response by phone.

It’s because I did phone the 0845 337 491 No. that the call handler left, which seemed to back up what the call handler told me, because the automated reply was:

“Welcome to the DWP Services Help Desk”……………at which point I put the phone down.

Also, because I thought ATOS were no longer handling claims, it’s MAXIMUS, I thought that I would err on the side of caution.

Thanks again for your input and I shall wait for something to possibly arrive in the post and try and ignore the message!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If only the SUITS in Whitehall new what they put us through eh????
