PIP form gone for deadline but... was created by inmank
Hi
Just starting to complete that new PIP form, but I was admitted to hospital 3 days in the summer of last year due to my condition. Should this go on my form? I remember seeing somewhere that I should have informed DWP about this, however, did not as far too poorly to consider phoning them. I am on increased medication now and was on the verge of a relapse a week ago and was terrified of being admitted again. The experience was so bad I tried to escape but failed only reached the door of the ward after an hour and the consultant caught me.I never want to go to hospital again EVER! If I say on PIP form I have been in hospital will DWP say I should have told them and penalise me?

Hi r,

Welcome to Benefits and Work Forum :)

As you will see in : This DR UK Factsheet the fact that you were in hospital for 3 days should not have any adverse effect on DLA or PIP payments.

Hospital stays only affect DLA or PIP payments if they exceed 4 weeks, so there should be no problem with you informing them now !

Besides, as you rightly state, you were probably to ill at the time to even think of informing DWP !

I know that you have been a member since 2012, but as I am not aware of your current status and whether you are aware of all our PIP resources, here are some "quick links" that you may find helpful :

Really not sure how to answer this one. I don't go out so I don't meet people. I have trouble getting to the GP appointments. When out on mobility scooter once I had stones thrown at me, so that has put me off going out. I don't have people round to me, as cannot say when I would be ok. Basically I am cut off from the world without my family here I would not see a soul. I really hate filling these forms in it just highlights all the negative areas in my life.

Hi Rog

you'll have answered all the questions relating to your medical issues earlier in the application form, so why not just write exactly what you have written in your message here.

It explains all the reasons why you don't/can't go out. It shows your state of mind, and explains how solitary and 'cut off' from normal society you are.

If you can get to the GP and ask him/her to give you supportive letter, all the better. If you keep anything like a diary, you could elaborate on the very small number of times you do actually manage to get out of the house, though I don't think that is absolutely necessary.

Just be honest about how desperate and sad the whole situation makes you feel. You really can't do any more than that.

Get back to us if you think we can help in any other way? Good luck.

Hi

Have sent my PIP form in to meet the deadline, however, my GP has now increased my pain medication to oramorph. Do I need to advise DWP if so how?

Hi r,

I will merge your other two PIP related topics with this one for continuity.

Please keep all future PIP related queries to this topic.

You could inform The Assessment Provider (AP) (ATOS/Capita) by e-mail :

Contact Capita.

Contact ATOS PIP (Top right of page)

If you are unsure who your AP is, you can check : Here.

If you have to go through a face to face, you could also take the new medication with you.

The important issue to consider is does the prescribing of the new medication help to indicate that you suffer from limitations.

Or, does your taking of the medication, or any side effects caused by them alter your stated limitations for better/worse.

You should Bookmark/Favourite this page in your Internet Browser now. That way you can return to this topic easily to pose any further queries that you may have by replying to the topic.

See : This Topic also !

Thanks in anticipation of your future co-operation in keeping all your PIP related queries to this topic ! :)
