Well that's eight weeks...... and what da ya know,

The white letter arrived, and it said there sending one of there trained "robo"... oh sorry... there trained disability analyst's to assess me at my home???

I don't know why I've been granted a home assessment ( didn't ask for one) but I don't mind because it'll save some petrol money in getting to the inquisition.

It's a bit ironic that most people who request a home visit (assessment) are refused,.. or they have to provide irrefutable evidence from there doctor or specialist that they are unable to undergo this assault on there character and wellbeing unless it's carried out in familiar surroundings.

However,.. I really don't know if a home visit is good or bad thing,.. but I hope to get a decent hearing and result from ATOS next week.

I will keep the forum informed of any experience with the DWP and there underlings in the weeks to come.

Regards......Bill.

Well at least that's something else out of the way!!

The HCP arrived bang on 9am ( was told between 9 and 11am) and introduced herself as a nurse working on behalf of Atos.
The HCP was polite and conducted the "interview" in a professional and a thoroughly decent fashion, and made me feel at ease throughout. When It came to the physical part she only asked me to raise my arms above my head.. push against her hand...and then she asked me to stand.

Well I struggled to get of the low.. but extremely comfortable sofa and the effort expended had me wheezing and puffing like an old steam engine.
Anyway my effort and it's consequences didn't go unnoticed by the HCP and she insisted that I sit back down immediately and that the assessment was almost over.
This surprised me as she didn't even ask me to walk a few meters, instead she only asked me how far I could walk without stopping to catch my breath.

All in all we've been here many times before. I feel that it went quite well, however I can't help but wonder how many of our forumites have been lulled into a false sense of security by the "nice" HCP and have been devastated by the end result. (the brown paper devastator)

She said I'll hear from the DWP in about 4 to 8 weeks....told me to remain seated, shook my hand and bade me farewell.
My wife said,. quote....."she's been here for an hour and 10 minutes"......I couldn't believe it,...it felt more like 30 minutes it past so quickly.
Just a waiting game now......who knows how long it will take or what the final result will be,.. but if it goes against me, there's always the appeal (oh jeez).

Well at least it is over.

I'm afraid we are seeing Decisions taking at least 8 weeks at the moment.

First and foremost..I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the family of Jo Cox, the labour parliamentarian who has been so brutally cut down in her prime.

Well I've came to the end of my pip journey today 16/6/2016.
I struggled out of bed at 10am this morning to the infamous brown letter precariously hanging from the letterbox.

OK... let's have a "latte" before I open this receptacle of dread, but on the other hand hope and a means to support yourself.
It's too bad that sick and disabled people have to run the gauntlet of the whims and mood of the individuals who have been chosen to decide our fate.

However, I was one of the lucky ones.....I was "seen" by a decent HCP although her report wasn't factually correct.
Anyway I gambled my HRM DLA for an early pip hearing and the gamble paid off as I've been awarded enhanced mobility and standard care.
Slightly disappointed as I scored 11 points for care and the dossette box (1point) could have sealed it for me.

My award will be reviewed in May 2022,.. and if the good lord spares me until then, I will be reassessed under the Scottish regime.

"I said I'm slightly disappointed" that's not really true..... I'm actually very happy as I feel that I'm now getting the award that I deserve and that I thought would be granted.

It's not over for my membership of B/W as I intend to renew when required, and I would like to thank all the excellent moderators but especially Gordon and Foss27, for without there knowledge and encouragement I would still be being sold short.
