ESA home assessment

Thank you so much for your advice Gordon. The whole situation has got me in a terrible state. Ive got a home visit for ESA in two weeks and this visiting officer next week, its just too much for me to deal with mentally.

Just wanted to update you about the home visit by a visiting officer from DWP. She visited yesterday. She only checked my ID, didnt look at all my bank statements, medication and illness lists etc. She was only with me for less than 5 minutes.

Seemed such a waste of time. My fragile mental state has suffered terribly this last week since receiving the appointment, all just for her to check my ID.

Ive a DWP Dr doing a home visit next week, but ive asked my GP for a letter so as i can cancel it. its just all too much for me. They didnt send me out the ESA assessment form to complete, just the doctor visit. Id rather fill the form in so i can have time to think about what i want to say.

To be honest im so ill with all this worry re DWP id rather do without the money than go through all this business.

Im speaking to my mental health support worker about all my options later today.

HI, thank you for your advice Gordon. I did cancel my ESA home assessment. The stress it is causing me is too much and i have decided to withdraw any further claim to ESA . The stress is just not worth it, and it is affecting my health to the point of a breakdown. I havent done it yet, i just wanted to ask some questions before i do it.

My question is this. If i do cancel my ESA wil they cancel my PIP too? I was awarded PIP last year and it is not due for re assessment for another two years. Im hoping to stay on the PIP as this would be my only income and cannot do without it, and cannot work.
