Hi all, I went on sick after being diagnosed with fibromyalgia January 2015. As of yet I still have heard nothing from ESA regards any assessment. I received a letter January 2016 saying I had now been placed in the income support group (I think this is it) I no longer have to pay for my prescriptions etc. Does anybody out there know how long it takes before I am sent for an assessment? I receive income support every 2 weeks and I suppose I should be grateful I still haven't been sent for but I am still worried sick. With all my ailments and the pain I am in including all the meds I have to take I am so worried I will still fail the assessment reading how others have been treated and denied. Can anybody put my mind at rest thankyou.....

I would give the DWP a call, your post suggests that a Decision was made without the need for a face to face assessment and that you are currently in the Support Group.

Thankyou Gordon, I actually did contact dwp over 6 months ago now who basically said there was a backlog of assessments being undertaken in my area and they would get to me in due time. I contacted Esa also just over a couple of months ago who said they were sure I would hear something soon and not to worry. Again thankyou for put...

Hi Elana,
We are hearing again of people waiting a year plus for the ESA assessment. It sounds as if your claim was switched to income-related in January of this year after using up the 365 days of contributory benefit allowed for those not in the Support Group.
