Hi Debbie,

PIP is a totally separate benefit with different criteria from ESA. If you do apply, you will have to fill in another long form and might need a face2face assessment.

In order to claim PIP your care and/or mobility needs must have been present for 3 months already and expected to last for at least a further 9 months.

If you think you might qualify, I suggest you have a look at our PIP self-assessment, score yourself harshly and see what you think.

PIP help for claimants

If you do decide to claim PIP, may I suggest that you start a new topic to deal with any questions/comments? We find it difficult to get our heads round dealing with 2 subjects in the same topic!
