PIP Awarded 2 points was created by graham
Hi my 1st post
was assessed on 21st June (last week) have today received the letter explaining that i have scored 2 points only for preparing food.
I have today been signed as unfit for work (1 month) by my GP, I am an Electrical engineer 60 years old my work requires me to work on LIVE exposed contacts.
I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in January, i suffer from depression, i can no longer cope at work.

I believe the assessor took little or no notice of the answers i gave to his questions during the assessment, i plan to go the mandatory reconsideration route any advice will be much appreciated

hi graham ,
hope yo dont mind me replying ,, i also recieved my pip report bk in begining of june ,,was awarded 2 points for daily and 4 points for mobility, i wrote a letter asking for MR but that also came back with the same outcome dont think they even botherd to look at further evidence i sent with it ,,,but unfortunately you have to do this first before any appeal,. if you click on pip on the left there is a pip guide for MR and appeal iit tells you everything you need to know about about MR .and also shows eg of written MR letter to give you a idea ,, hope your succesfull and dont give up they try and make it as hard as possible for us ,ive just sent my appeal off this morning i might as well see it through as gone this far,.
good luck and keep us posted how you get on,
alison,

Hi Graham and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

Our PIP guide explains the process, and the criteria against which you were assessed in detail.

PIP help for claimants

You might also find this helpful. Although it mainly deals with ESA, the process is the same.

ESA mandatory reconsiderations and appeals

If you don't already have a copy of the PIP assessor's report,m it will be worth asking DWP for one as it will give you more idea why your claim was denied. You don't have to put a lot of detail on the MR request initially, as long as you make it clear you will send more when the report arrives.

You might want to bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future. This will allow you to return with further questions/comments about your PIP without having to start a new topic each time. It helps us enormously when everything relating to the same claim is kept in one place - and I hope you will find it useful too :)

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
