There is also a disability premium if you're getting WTC. I phoned the DWP the day I got my PIP confirmation letter and received back payment exactly 4 weeks to the date of my phonecall.

According to the blurb, the DWP are supposed to pick up on your PIP award and automatically add the disability premium, although I don't think it hurts to give a quick nudge.

Thanks everyone. I got through to them today and they did receive it on the 10th August but the woman on the phone said it had been scanned as white mail so hadn't been picked up. She emailed it over today.

Phoned again today and the guy I spoke to said the decision makers are still looking into it because I like with my mum and dad and I've said they both get middle rate daily living DLA which they do. What is there to look into? Surely they can see on their records this is true?

I did read that if someone can claim carers allowance for you even if they don't claim it that will rule you out of getting the premium. The only person who could claim that is my dad as he gets DLA as he's deaf. Mum is not at all able to care for anyone let alone herself. Dad used to get carers for her but since he reached retirement age he gets that deducted.

I'm afraid the DWP are a lot slower to pay claimants extra money than they are reducing or removing benefits.

Based on what you have posted you appear to be eligible, it should be backdated to the earliest date that you met all of the criteria.
