Thank you, I am hoping it will be before 10 days.
I had a letter a couple of weeks ago saying my DLA had to be paid into a Bank Account and I had to call them asap. They told me it was costing the government more to pay Benefits into the PO as opposed to the Bank. I did challenge this over the phone and was told there was no rush about it but they were planning on moving all benefits to a Bank as from January? Confused again, Carol

The immediate issue, although this is unlikely to effect most claimants in the short term, is that Universal Credit has no mechanism for payment to a Post Office account, so anybody receiving this will have to have a bank account in order to receive their UC payments, in the longer term it is likely that other benefits will have the PO component removed as well, although this may take many, many years.

You don't have to go to a bank, the Post Office has accounts that meet the required criteria.

Thank you Gordon she was adamant I would need a bank account, makes you wonder?
I have started to sort my paper work out now and I am now looking at a document called
Personal Independence Payment: Filling in the form dated April 2016 which I am find very explanatory and extremely useful. It's 36 pages long but worth the read. Thank you Carol

I have been using another document tonight called...
The Best Possible - Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Claims and Reviews on Physical Health, Mental Issues and Learning Difficulties.
Thank you all so much for all your hard work in getting all these extremely helpful documents on your site to help us all with our forms.
It is extremely helpful and I would think the best guide for helping fill in the form. Thank you!

Hi, I am a little confused about what information is used at the medical assessment.
Do they have and go through the claim form you sent in?
I know they have their own software for assessment which I presume they will go through during the assessment. Are both lots of info used to make a decision on your claim?
Thank you!

They should have your claim form with you but they won't specifically go through it point by point but the script that they follow should cover all of the major points that you will have written about on the form.

All of the evidence available, yours and that collected by the assessor should be considered in the making of the Decision.
