PIP application form was created by Kerdan2006
Just starting to fill in my pip form , I have until the 19 th of October ,
I have a couple of queries ,
As yet I have no printed evidence of my condition, can I apply without it ? I'm I best to get test results printed etc ? Can I just ask doc for them ?
Are there any advantages of applying without written evidence ?
Many thanks

Supplying evidence with your claim is always best if you can, but you can only send what you have. There's no specific requirement for you to have evidence but generally it will help your claim if you.

Speak to your GP, they may be willing to help you, they may also expect the assessor to contact them, this is very unlikely to happen so you should push them if you feel up to it.

If you have more questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.

Thank you Gordon , I know there is a letter with a X-ray result stating that I have severe arthritis of my hip , the doctor showed me it on her pic , should I just ask for a copy of that ? Should I also ask for a letter from gp stating my limitations ? I feel really embarrassed asking my doc for this ,I really don't know how to go about getting the evidence,

I'm afraid you really need to park issues like embarrassment when you are making a benefit claim, this is all about getting the right award first time if at all possible!

I would start with finding out how mush assistance your GP is willing to provide and then go from there, I'm not a fan of sending X-rays, scans, etc., I just don't believe that the assessor will pay any attention to them, even if they are actually trained to interpret one in the first place, remember, it is not the condition that will get you points but the effect it has on your ability to complete the PIP activities.

One thing you can do is prepare a document with the PIP activities and descriptors without the points being included and ask them to indicate the ones that they would expect you to have problems with and to explain why.
