Requested PIP1 by mail was created by Leon64
Hi,
I requested a PIP1 form by writing a letter to DWP and didn't hear anything after about 3 weeks, so I did it again about two weeks ago, this time by recorded mail and still haven't received any reply, any ideas of how to proceed?
Many thanks

Hi Leon,

I'm afraid some members have had great trouble getting hold of the paper PIP1 form - so much so that we suggest initiating the claim by phone if at all possible.

Is there anyone who can phone DWP for you ( you would need to be there to answer security questions)? You really need to contact them to ask what is happening - if they say they have not received your letters they could stop your DLA claim if they do not hear from you :(

In addition, your MP might like to hear how the system is 'working'

You have to claim by PHONE to get the form. It does not matter how many letters you send, thats how the system is set up, until you initiate that phone call you will not get your forms.

Also get used to the idea that the system is unfair, your not going to change with it. Just go along with it or you will never get a form.

Mrs. Hurtyback the OP has not mentioned about claiming DLA, I don't understand why your are telling her the dwp could stop her DLA claim if they do not hear from her? PIP1 Form is the first stage of claiming PIP after that stage the OP will get a PIP2 How your disability affects you if her first stage is successful.

If the OP was receiving DLA the DWP will tell her when her DLA will end and invite her to claim PIP

In addition, your MP might like to hear how the system is 'working'

There would be no need for her MP at this stage the MP would only help if the PIP claim has been refused and that the OP has a good ground to fight her case. At this stage the OP has not lost anything.

I'm afraid this is incorrect! It should be possible to request a copy of the PIP1 by mail, receiving it by this method is another matter.

Marie

Looking back at the OP's previous posts the situation appears to be unclear, they appear to either have an existing DLA claim or have already been awarded PIP!!!
