Hi ghay25

Can I ask if your ESA85A gave any indication as to how many points you scored or what descriptors/activities placed you in the WRAG?

It's the form you need to fill in to give notice of appeal.

The link to the DWP booklet below contains the GL24 form at the end.

Hi Derek, just a thought re your friend but only applicable if she was already in the Support Group

'Where a decision is not revised, there is no right to request a statement of reasons for the refusal to revise, as this is not a decision with a right of appeal'

This being from the Decision Makers handbook.

Best wishes,
Rachel

Hi Derek,
The ESA85A has no reference to points it just states that "the claimed level of disability is consistant with the evidence before me" and that "review of the current ESA50 the client would reach threshold if called to board" so I took that to mean I would have scored enough points if called for a medical so no point in sending me for one!
At the end of the report it states "the ESA50 and previous report indicates that the client is unlikely to return to work in the longer term."
That's why I have appealled their WRAG discision and asked to be placed in the support group as I feel that I could have been given support group descriptors if I had have had a medical and be issued with a ESA65!I have no way of checking tho and will never know as they placed me straight in the WRAG, a new sneaky way of going about it from DWP. They seem to be changing things all the time.
Hope this helps...

Hi Ghay25

Thanks for replying. I'm beginning to wonder if the DWP know or even bother do decide what descriptors claimants assessed on paper have satisfied.

Hopefully your appeal bundle will shed more. Good luck with the appeal.

Regards

Derek
