Re Esa and PIP, don't know esa period was created by Scotdavid
Hi

I have a family member receives esa and pip daily living, pip is until Aug 2020 but the esa not sure, cant find award letter, just know it started Nov 2015 and changed to income base April 2016. I think he is in the work related group but we don't have the original letter, used ot get meetings suggesting volunteering but he wasnt up to that, though he hasn't had any contact from them at all this year and is worse than when he started. Is this esa likely to have a limit soon?, do we need to reapply or can it roll on, is there an easy way to find out? some reluctance to call them as probably lead to some kind of meetings etc which he finds too stressful.

ESA is an indefinite award with scheduled reassessment so there is no end date or award length on the Decision Letter.

If you have the assessment report, then the prognosis is usually used to set the next assessment date, failing that the only way to know is to contact the DWP, the date will be on the computer system.

Ok many thanks on both points Gordon.

If reassessment is due can we expect some kind of written notice some months well in advance and not like just a week or so?

You will receive another ESA50 to complete, I'm afraid there will be not prior notice of this.
