TOPIC: PIP transfer from DLA for Over 65's

PIP transfer from DLA for Over 65's 2 months 2 weeks ago #225854

A friend of mine is in his 70's and has been sent a letter from DWP informing him that he will be being transfered on to PIP sometime during 2019. Is this correct or an error as I wasn't aware of this change in PIP for the over 65's. Sorry if this topic has been addressed already.

I myself have been moved from Standard Rate C & M to Enhanced rate C & M for at least 10 years, presumably because I am close to retirement age.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

All DLA claimants who were under the age of 65 on 8 April 2013 will be invited to claim PIP even if they are over the age of 65 when this happens.

Thanks for the info - my friend was 68 in 2013 , so I have advised him to contact DWP in case it is an error.......unless they have sneaked another rule change in.

It may have been a standard letter, the DLA letters have been referring to PIP for years.
