TOPIC: PIP and pension age

PIP and pension age 3 months 3 weeks ago #235820

I see they have changed the rules and that now, people of pension age don't need to be reviewed for 10 years.
How do I fit in with this please? I had a re-assessment of PIP in January 2019, which I am at present taking to tribunal. I am 65 and retire May 2020. After all the hard work and time that has gone into this I'd like to think that I don't have to go through it again in 18 months.
When the tribunal make a final decision will I come into the 10 year bracket seeing as I will be retired next year?

Hi Mosala

It was an announcement by the Government that was made and the DWP has yet to say how they are going to respond, so it is impossible for us to give you a definitive answer. You also don't know the result of your tribunal but I can say, that members rarely report an increase in the length of the award at an appeal. Sorry not to be more helpful, but you will have to wait until the picture starts to become clearer.
