TOPIC: Travel to care for a vulnerable person

Travel to care for a vulnerable person 2 months 1 week ago #246145

My husband and I live in Cardiff. My daughter and her boyfriend, who both have Asperger's, live with his parents in Oxfordshire. My daughter suffers also from severe anxiety but won't take medication. Everyone is at home because their workplaces have closed and things are very stressful. Last night there was a terrible row and my daughter and her boyfriend are not speaking to his parents. Are we allowed under new measures to travel there to bring them here, given that they are both vulnerable? I think his parents need a break, too.

Thanks but this doesn't help. I want to know if police are going to stop drivers to ask the reason for their journey. I don't think they will have the resources but it may happen when measures are reviewed in three weeks' time. Is anyone else in a similar situation?

Unfortunately we can not really advise you, this is one situation where you will need take into account all the available information and given that information make your own decision.

If you do make the decision to make the journey then the police may well stop you, all you can do in that situation is be honest and explain the circumstances.

one of the (4) reasons you are allowed to go out is to visit a venerable person. There is no guidance i can see on collecting people and transporting them to a different address.

Are there any care professionals that you can call on to help .?
Ii appears that the advice is not to move people from one address to another
